A Trip

As he stood on the bus, he didn't know if his grandfather would live or die. 720. Wilshire. Always full. But what kind of a problem is that compared to death? Soon the time for the operation would come. Crenshaw. La Brea. Fairfax. Would he be able to control his emotions when he saw the old man, on his back, tubes sticking out, not able to speak clearly? La Cienega. Beverly. Westwood. At least we have the means to pay for this, more or less. Not everyone is so lucky.

What does the bus mean? A chance to say goodbye.
